A tech company is launching a new type of stroller for the traveling on-the-go parents. This looks to have more bells and whistles than some cars. Smartbe, a tech start-up company is selling the hands-free stroller for $3,000 and orders are starting to come in.
The stroller is deemed the “first intelligent stroller” and has motion-tracking sensors built into the handle. The sensors allow the stroller to follow your movements and create the self-driving technology.
Other features include self-stopping functions, cell phone charging capability, climate control options, a webcam, wireless speakers, and light signals.
Still with all the fancy tech put into this stroller. Some moms still have concerns. Mom Shawn Keatering wrote on the Smartbe Facebook page, "What about protecting your baby from a 13 mile per hour death trap?", referring to instances where a mom might not be able to grab the moving stroller in time at oncoming traffic at street intersections.
Does this stroller help make parenting on-the-go easier, or does it encourage being lax when your guard and vigilence of handling your baby should always be 100% in your hands? That's left to be seen.
We're honestly not sure how to feel about this latest advance in parenting technology, but what do you folks think about a self-propelled stroller? Some of us moms gave up using our baby monitor during the first few weeks, so maybe this latest baby tech might not be for us. What do you think?
