Our family trip to Lake George, New York, was loaded with a lot of memories of water, fun water stuff!! Well of course that was to be expected, this gorgeous upsate town is named after the very lake that attracted me and husband and my kids here.
It's right there in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, and wait till you experience the low clouds on those hills and mountains like I did, it's really a good feeling. They call this place the “Queen of American Lakes” and after visiting this beautiful upstate getaway twice with my family, I can personally say it's a wealth of fun, food, and activities that made us want to go back.
If your family is the type looking for outdoor adventures, historical sites, or just a place to relax by the water, Lake George is for you. Here are my eight compelling reasons to take the family to Lake George destination.

The lake itself is a 32-mile-long stretch of crystal-clear water, bordered by lush forests and the towering peaks of the Adirondacks. The photo below of me and my husband was taken by the pier that juts out into the lake nearby the local store fronts or strip mall if you want to call it that.
