Traveling moms with and without their nursing infants face certain challenges, especially when navigating through airports. Luckily these moms get a great assist from the (FAM ACT) Friendly Airports for Mothers Act introduced by Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Representative Stephen Knight (R-CA). The Friendly Airports for Mothers (FAM) ACT aims to alleviate some of these challenges by promoting breastfeeding and providing adequate facilities for mothers and families in airports across the United States. Let's delve into what this act entails, its impact on traveling moms, and how airports are becoming more accommodating for families.

Summer is the season for sunshine, warmth, and endless opportunities for fun with your kids. However, keeping the little ones entertained while sticking to a budget can sometimes feel like a challenge. It is now July and there is still a lot of summer left for many of us. Summer activities can get expensive so let’s talk about having a fun summer while being on a budget!! So this includes doing simple staycations and keeping summer travel and visits to local places that don't require long drives or an airplane trip.

It cannot get any crazier, than changing your baby on the floor of a crusty, nasty bathroom floor because the men's bathroom does not accommodate dads! In recent past dad, Chris Mau, posted on Facebook about having to do the very same thing. It's a huge problem. If it's the law in the United States that men's bathrooms must be equipped with a baby changing table why are locations lagging behind?? Children should not be changed on the floor of a crusty bathroom!

There’s nothing in your life quite like the experience of breastfeeding your children. Family memories are the sweetest and it’s what I’m overwhelmingly thankful for.  From the first moment we brought our oldest son home from the hospital to this morning at the breakfast table – I love the moments our family creates and turns into lasting treasures that we can turn back to when times get tough.  Below are five great ways to create warm memories that will last a family lifetime.

Do you bring your baby to a major sports event?  Thanks to major league sports, whatever the season of year, hockey, baseball, football, or basketball games are always in full swing in the US  and many women - including moms - even nursing moms - travel to these events. However there is some controversy over this topic.

The local place to travel to was the inauguration of Yoga and Tutus, because whether you were a working mom or stay at home mom every mother needed to be reminded they were a Goddess! It was a day where moms and daughters interacted with one another and engaged their mind, body and soul. During Yoga and Tutus moms participate in activities with their daughters which included meditation, dancing and re-connection.

Many of you may remember Alyssa Milano’s terrible experience at Heathrow Airport earlier this year when the security agents made her leave expressed milk at the gate instead of allowing her to carry it with her on her flight. Since then, I’ve been meaning to prepare a “How-To” list for air travel with breast milk. Please note these suggestions apply to domestic travel within the United States.

So what does it mean to travel abroad with your baby and family while you are still a nursing mother? First, for any nursing mother traveling abroad it's important to do your research. Not only about the laws about nursing mothers in the country you are flying into to, all the supplies you will need but the airports you will be using to potentially nurse, change or breast pump for your baby.

Most of us have taken trips:  trips with our friends, trips with our families, trips with our children.  If we haven't taken the trip, we've talked about the trip - let's go to Vegas for your 40th, let's meet the Sullivans in Colorado to go skiing, let's get all the cousins together and rent a beach house next year.
