ALLAITEMENT ET PARENTAL

For many years, I’ve lived away from my family and for holidays and special occasions I made a four-hour road trip to my parents’ house quite often and I never thought twice about it.  I packed up my car with all my stuff, gassed up at the station and made my way up North to see my family for the holidays.

I want it all.

Lazy days with nothing to do - this is what summertime is supposed to mean. Many of us remember our childhood summers like this.  No schedules, no school, no schlepping to and from different events and commitments.

Two of my close friends recently had their second babies and are asking the question of whether they should return to work or stay home with their families.  No one can make that decision for someone else - it has to be what works for you and for your family - but here are three questions I have asked myself when I wasn't sure which path I should choose?

What is the Mother’s Day Tradition in your home? How did you spend Mother’s Day as a child? Did you bring your mom breakfast in bed and hand her your crayon-colored homemade cards? Did you go to visit your grandparents and see your aunts and uncles as a family? Did you go to a special place for brunch to celebrate your mother and how important she is?
